- Captain of a 102 foot Azimuth Motor Yacht operating in the Eastern Caribbean (06/’08 to current)
- Captain of a 52 foot Charter Catamaran operating in the Eastern Caribbean, with CharterPort BVI, Ltd. (‘06 - ‘08)
- 2005 & 2006 seasons as freelance charter Captain in the British Virgin Islands aboard mono-hulls and catamarans up to 73 feet.
- Worked for North South Yacht Vacations and Footloose Charters and was hired directly by private individuals
- Served a compulsory military term in the Finnish Navy (1979-80) as a Search & Recovery Diver aboard a 96m minelayer, 2nd duty as Navigator, 3rd as Firefighter
- Eight years experience as sailing/cruising instructor working with several organizations including Humber College’s Sailing School in Toronto (1999 to current)

- 1st place (twice) in Lake Ontario 300 fully crewed spinnaker division, 1998 & 1999
- 2nd place finish and line honors in Clipper Race (100 nm), 1999
- 2nd in Caribbean 1500 Rally in 2003 and 3rd in 2005
- 3rd place in Lake Ontario 300 double-handed spinnaker division, 2000
- 4th place in the BVI Spring regatta, 2006
- Single-handed long-distance race series in Spinnaker class (100 nm+), 2004
- 10th place (10/64) in Finland's national championships with a Flipper Scow, 1974
